BAE Systems Employment Imposter - Fake Check Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

- Elmont, NY, USA • May 29, 2025

I received an email from Sharon McDougall (Talent Acquisition Lead at BAE Systems) about an application for a Project Manager position submitted via Indeed. I was introduced to a Recruiter Ann Wiggins and interviewed on 5/28/2025 via Microsoft Teams app and was then offered a job position of Project Manager with the company BAE SYSTEMS on 5/28/2025. I then received an Employment Offer Letter with my job description, pay amount, benefits offered, etc. along with a Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification which I signed both forms and returned via email to Michelle Murphy at their HR Department. They informed me that I would be sent money to purchase software needed for me to start working and that I would receive the money via direct deposit or wire transfer. Today 5/29/2025 they informed me that they would be sending me a check to deposit into my bank account for this purchase. I immediately got suspicious and let her know that I'd prefer receiving any monies via direct deposit as forestated earlier. Then she preceded to give me an excuse as to why it couldn't be sent that way saying that the accounting department is unable to process direct deposit or wire transfers today. At that point I declined the position because of the way the recruitment process was going and researched the company some more only to find out that there is a scam being used with this Company's name BAE Systems. However, now they have my personal information. I've already reported this incident to the 3-credit bureaus. I'm also reporting this so that it is recorded with ScamPulse.com and to alert the public of this scam.
