I contacted Backcountry Caps through Facebook Marketplace on October 8, 2026 to inquire about a used truck bed topper for $1000. They responded and gave me the name Chanaya Charles 943-245-9100 to Zelle a $400 down payment to hold the topper. That number would not work, so they gave me Deivi Torres-Salano 201-757-8512, which worked. I was then asked for a screenshot of the payment verification and reference number, which I sent. On October 9, 2026 I was contacted through Facebook Messenger and told the topper was sold, but they could get me one from a competitor, but would require the entire $1000 immediately. I requested a refund of the previously sent $400 and have had no response. The business phone number listed on their Facebook page 385-616-1805 goes straight to a recorded message that the number has not been set up for voicemail. Email to [email protected] has went unanswered.
