Type of a scam Online Purchase

The individual has a Facebook page, Automotive Jeep Parts and Accessories. I started texting with him from there. He claims to sale jeep parts. I wanted to purchase a Jeep soft top. He tried to get me to just send him money directly. Just do a credit card purchase with him. I would not. Told him I wanted a viable purchase platform. Asked about PayPal, he said credit card only. I refused. Researched and found they had a website. Told him Id just purchase that way. I called the number and they asked to just text. Tried that. Text with them and figured out the top that I wanted. Ordered it from their website. Went to use the PayPal link and it was not directly connected. Thought that odd but then they sent an email with the name and email to use, Mintesinot Borst, mintesinotborst.com. I researched the ScamPulse.com scam search and found no claims. Then I called PayPal and they said some are not directly linked to them but as long as I sent the money under goods and services, not friends and family, I was covered. So I sent the money. Got a text and he was upset because I sent it under goods and services. I explained why and he said he would refund and change the email. He then said never mind he would just ship it. I got a receipt and then asked for the tracking number. He did send it and I tested it with the apparent shipping company. It tracked so I figured I was just paranoid. Then I got a text from the shipping company wanting a "refundable upon delivery" $400 to deliver. I said no, the s/h was covered with the purchase, as stated on the webpage, contact the shipper. They insisted it was all good, refundable when they delivered. I continued saying no. I then contacted the seller. He said he would contact them. Then he came back and said there was nothing he could do but would help out and pay 1/2. I explained that he would pay it all being shipping was included and why worry, like he said, it was refundable. I then contacted the shipping company which was portrayed as Jones Shipping. He used the address, www.logisticsjoneshipping.com. I called Jones Shipping and they informed me the tracking number was bogus and they would never make that kind of request for additional money. They explained this was a big problem scam in their industry. They even looked up the website and explained things to me about how it was even a scam site just made to look good. They explained that this guys company and shipping company were probably all one big scam. The address he used went to Jone Shipping, a fraudulent site, not Jones Shipping. I then followed up with the seller about everything I had figured out and he said request a refund and quit communicating. I contacted PayPal and started the fraud claim. He never responded to them and as of today, after no communication with him, PayPal refunded my money. I want people to realize this is a scam, both on Facebook and on his website. I was fortunate to pay through PayPal and be covered but many would not. Further research shows me that there are possibly a number of Jeep Parts scam sites on Facebook, including Jeep Auto Spare Parts for Sale. Probably all the same ring of people. Regardless, this one is definitely a scam. His Facebook site, his online site and his shipping company are all a fraud. Please look into this and help stop them. Thank you for your time.
