Since start of covid a scam group has been issuing fake job adverts pretending to be arup.com.

they use various domains including arup-group.com, arupgroups.com arupsgroup.com arupcompanys.com arupscompany.com .

All the pictures etc above are correct, the scammers seem to send out fake cheques and then ask for codes or bitcoin back.

They have lifted details of people from the arup.com website and often clone the website and change contact details.

this is a classic recruitment scam

Arup (the legit organisation) only use arup.com - any other domain is a scam.

Arup doesn't use telegram, whatsapp or similar for interviews.

arup.com jobs are available on careers.arup.com, they do not use any other job boards or websites.

I had same thing but this time the number is saying they are Hootsuites Google name and looks like Tara does work there but looks like they are just using her name Google the phone number and found this smh knew it was fishy

This afternoon someone send me message about work from home and offer me 35$ per hr for Data Analyst job and contact Diane Thornhill via Telegram Messenger I download the app and contact with Diane. But I doubt it because I know they are scammers.

I was also scammed by the same person known as Mrs.Diane. I was instructed by someone who messaged me about them seeing my application. Was told to contact Mrs.Diane about getting started. I received the check that someone else said they had problems with and tried to deposit it but it had problems. I sent the last of my money I had through bitcoin for the supposed “vendors” they used. Once I sent the payment and got up today to contact Mrs.Diane all our messages we had previously were gone, the person who contacted me about my application number is gone, and Mrs.Diane phone is not able to be reached as if they inactivated the number.

Hello, I almost fell prey to this scam as well, I really needed the job and the offer was great. I was hoping you could share more details of the end result of this nightmare. I caught on before they sent me a check thankfully. I was thinking about contacting the real Arup company about this scam, because of how legit it seems.

This is a MAJOR scam! Received a message from a Michael Anderson phone: 628-500-6185 who stated that Arup Group of Companies had seen my resume online and to report to the Head of HR Diane Thornhill email: [email protected] // phone: 617-987-4837, who would proceed with the interview via Telegram. I was "hired", sent an employment letter + W4 from Allan Jennat email: [email protected] // phone: 760-424-4033 . I was given a Fedex tracking 2873-7235-1703 and told to let "Diane Thornhill" know as soon as I receive the enveloppe containing a check to purchase accounting software and equipment needed for the job. The mail never arrived, was first labeled as recipient not home, then rescheduled for delivery, then updated to an incorrect address status, then finally undelivered because the sender asked for it to be returned to them. Fedex also opened a case/investigation stating that the package had a security problem. The sender labeled on the enveloppe was a completely different person and company: Debbi Carpenter SPACELABS HEALTHCARE.

I guarantee that www.arup.com was not the website associated with this.

arup.com is legit, the scammers are using alternatives such as arupgroup.com arupgroups.com etc.

Arup.com is getting these websites taken down as soon as they become aware.

I think I was scammed as well. When I concluded my interview with Diane Thornhill, I was hired and was told to expect a check to be sent to me in order to pay for supplies. The interview was done through telegram text app. Either the check bounced or there was no money to be cashed in the first place. Now my bank is telling me that my account has over drafted almost $5,000. Please explain this.

Andrew, I try to connect with you via LinkedIn, yes you are there, but just your name and picture with one follower for a head of HR that is said by itself. If you are really from ARUP.com company I like you to connect with me on LinkedIn ... and I will come back to say that you are not part of the scam … people are looking for a job, we are just putting here facts and need to make sure this is not a fraud. By sending an offer letter without interview …? Please by sending a check without completing a hiring process please... please look for a name started with Jen and last name Tom and try to connect with me ... I won't let my friend sign or provide information from the telegram or Gmail non-corporate account.

I was contacted from someone by text off indeed using my indeed resume. I was told to speak with the HR director via Skype. The person I was speaking to was Diane Thornhill. Through a few weeks I had my suspicions and when they sent me a check to deposit into my account to buy equipment I knew it was fraud. I opened a new bank account with the check they sent and 5 days after being held I was informed it was counterfeit.

I received an acceptance letter under similar circumstances with an "arupgroups.com" return address. Notice the s in the domain name. It was registered in December 2020.
