Aquafina Car Scam

9/7/22 I just got a text at 8:47am saying they will pay $1200 every 2 weeks to put an advert on my car for Aquafina. The first thing I did was google about a scam like this, and I found this. There were 3 other unknown numbers in the group chat with mine.

I received an email for a job offer to pay to have Aquafina do a vehicle wrap on my car. Then they sent me a check to cash and then forward the money to an applicator

Below are the text the scammer sent.

Hello, I'm Mr. James Conor the Advertisement Manager for AQUAFINA. This is to notify you that you have been approved/selected for our paid to drive concept, This program runs for three(3) months and you can decide how long you wish to run. A start-up payment (Certified Check) is bound to be mailed out to the Name and Address provided. We implore you to re-confirm your readiness to work with us. Also, confirm via text with (I CONFIRM). Thank you

Your assignment starts immediately . A check of $3750 was issued to you . Then you will deposit through atm machine since it is delivered on Saturday . You will cash the check and first of all take your first week payment of $750 from the check and then you will handle the rest to the installer .

They claimed they were from Aquafina wanting me to do advertising. His name was Mark Kirkman and he texted myself and 12 other people offering employment. Once I filled out information they sent me a check in the mail for $2100.44. When receiving the check, I found that it was fraudulent!! Thank god for good bank tellers!

I was on a Dave Ramsey site and they suggested car wraps as a way to make money. So, I googled and found a car wrap ad for Aquafina. I filled out a job application. I received a check for $1950.60 from Priority Mail. I'm supposed to call 205-941-7712 as soon I got the check. The return address is Rose HIll, 104 mabry dr, houston, ms 38851. The letter is signed by John Grimes.
