I received a call that I missed. Called back a minute later, only to immediately be sent to a voicemail "if you're calling about the interview, check your email inbox including spam..." paraphrased because I don't remember the fine details. I called twice with the same result, they called me back with clearly automated message (in that it did not respond to what I said in any fashion) telling me that the position I applied for was taken, but my credentials suit another 'better' position, and that I should check my email, including my spam inbox for details.

The contents of the email are below, with my name removed;

Hi [first name],

We hope you're doing well. While the position you applied for has already been filled, after reviewing your resume and past work experience, we believe you could be an excellent match for another remote position we currently have available.

We’d love for you to schedule a meeting with our founder to discuss the role, compensation, and learn more about our company.

You can select a time slot here: calendly . com/(I have removed the specifics of the link just in case, but it was a calendly link)

I did not pursue any further contact with them as I believe it to be a scam.
