I responded to a job opportunity on Facebook and the man responded and asked to send an email with my resume. I did so and then they sent me a job offer with further directions. I did not continue because I found the scam on ScamPulse.com

I saw a job posting on Facebook marketplace exchanged information. they sent out a w4 to fill out with my social security had several websites to make it look legit where I can sign in clock in and keep track of hours. they sent out a contract to sign for sign on bonus of $500 with $4,200 going towards their academy. I received a check in the email after they notified me with tracking. They asked me if I had deposited the check which I mentioned to them the nearest Wells Fargo bank is 1 hour away from me. they mentioned I could deposit the check in to my account with my phone. I was able to check the bbb and search if the check was a fake which is was. and now we're here

They emailed me saying I applied for a data entry job, which I have been applying a lot to these days. Which led them to asking if I was still interested in the position and I replied yes and the HR manager emailed me the job offer. The whole process went kinda fast thru onboarding and setting up employee information. Which made me second guess how legitimate the job was. So I looked it up again and went deeper on the search and found out it was a scam.

I was approached with an email offer for a job as a data entry specialist remotely. The email came from a Scott Billington [email protected] and told me to contact the company with an application reference number and my name. This is the email address they asked me to reach out to a Jonathan Wangari: [email protected]. They then sent additional emails with verification codes, onboarding videos, and employee accounts to create through the company to sign contracts, fill out W4 forms and Automated Deposit, I first had a red flag when they asked for my mothers maiden name and a copy of a previous W2. It was too late however because I had already filled out the W4 form with my SSN and my bank information. I feel completely embarrassed I even let it get that far with how quickly they were pushing to complete tasks. Once I realized the seriousness of the situation, I begin looking the company up on ScamPulse.com and the IRS website. This confirmed the illegitimacy of the company.
