I received the following attached message on a Sunday. The Message is completely wrong in so many ways there isn’t enough space to explain.

I called this company because I owed money for a emergency room bill but it just sounded weird he kept pushing me to pay only online or over the phone I told him I’ll send it in and kept lowering the price to make me pay right now I told him no I have a newborn I can afford now amount of 758 dollars before was 1516.00 then was 1,061.20 I finally hung up because he was really trying to pressure me he said he was talking to his “ manager “ but I didn’t hear anyone there or he never put me on hold

I received a bill stating i owed $2497.93 for an ambulance ride used in San Diego, CA. I have never been to California and when I called 1-800-913-9106 to let them know they had the wrong person, they told me to ignore the bill and they would handle on their end. About a month later, I received a letter stating my account was being turned over to collections. The collection company that has sent me a letter is Bay Area Credit Service, PO Box 467600, Atlanta GA 31146, phone 800-697-1234. Other company name listed is HOVG, LLC dba Bay Area Credit Service (BACS), 4145 Shackleford Road, Suite 330B, Norcross, GA 30093.

I hung up the phone but a Recorded message female stated my name and then stated I was being investigated for several matters she wanted to verify my home address and place of employment. I was a victim a few months ago of $700.00 and panicked, I did not want to talk and blocked the number. .

I received a letter yesterday, stating it was from a collection company (AMR) American Medical Response I had business with from 2017 til Dec 2018. Knowing I had finished by business with (AMR) American Medical Response located at 50 South Main St. Ste. 401 Akron OH 44308 in Dec 2018, with my obligations paid in full. I knew this had to be a scam trying to collect monies from me. I called American Medical Response from the number I had on file for them (800) 913-9106) to confirm my account #001947777-0000/ TRIP# 113-16516509-00 was paid in full. I also noted I had my confirmation numbers as well as all my statements in hand. They stated my account balance is $0 and they stated they would also send me a letter in the mail to confirm this as well, and told me to disregard the "fake" letter I received. I explained I was weary of any of my credentials being used unlawfully and I said I would also be calling Bay Area Credit Service (the original creditor) to be sure they have it recorded that my obligation has been paid in full. Bay Area Credit Service located at PO Box 467600 Atlanta GA 31146 (800) 697-1234). My BACS Acct# 98515899 was confirmed again thru them that my account was paid in full.
