American Shippers Line LLC Reports & Reviews (3)

I was looking for a vehicle to purchase when I came across a post selling a truck. The woman said her husband passed away and had no need for the truck. She said she moved and has as company handling the process for the truck. When talking with American Shippers LLC they gave me an address for someone else's company location. They try to sell you on making an online wire transfer that will hold until the item is delivered. And if it's not to standard they will ship it back on the sellers dime not the buyers. Sounds all good until you try to get information on the item ie Vin number, accident report, how many owner and so on. Anything you ask they only want to deal over email and wire transfers. This threw up red flags. So I asked how I can come in person to handle any paper work. I called the office number attached to the buildings location to find out they have no clue who that company is and they appreciated the information about a false company using there location.

I was looking to purchase a boat on Facebook marketplace. Fraudulent seller "Devin" gives you an automated response when you reach out to inquire if the boat is still available on messenger. Devin directs buyers to email the seller directly at [email protected]. Once you email the seller, she emails back with a story that her husband died and she must sell the boat because it brings bad memories. Then she said the boat is at the shipping company and it's ready to be shipped out. She also says she is out of town at her daughters because she had throat surgery. She then direct the buyers to American Shippers Line LLC (https://americanshippersinc.com/). When you go the site it looks real but has typos which made me very suspicious. She tells you that the company is a shipping and brokerage company and your money is safe with their escrow service.

Here is the email she sent me...

My 2019 Bennington Tri-toon 21SSBXP. In perfect working condition, with nothing wrong - like new! This boat has only 69 hours.

This Bennington has a clean title in my name, no accident history. Comes paired with a Yamaha 150HP motor, including a 2020 Genesis Trailer.

Boat is in excellent condition and has blue exterior with off white interior, complete custom cover, complete custom speaker system, premium seats, switch back seats. I am selling it at this price of $31,000- no trades or payments because my husband died 1 month ago and it brings back bad memories and that’s the reason I want to sell it. If you are interested in buying it,  I will be looking for your reply.

The next email from her...

Thank you for getting back to me but I would like to clarify some things first. I am not in town at the moment. I moved to my daughter because I had a throat surgery. The boat is already at the shipping company American Shippers Line LLC in Eau Claire, WI, ready for delivery because someone agreed to buy it, but in the end, he never got the loan. I will use American Shippers Line LLC Line Inc, in this transaction for our protection. If you are not aware of this program, you should know that it will allow you to test and inspect the boat before paying me. The inspection period will be set to 5 days, and I think that is enough time for you to make a decision about the boat. If you won`t like my boat you notify American Shippers Line LLC, and you send it back at my expense. But I assure you that won't be the case.

If you want the boat, please reply with your full name, delivery address and phone number so I can start the transaction with American Shippers Line LLC and ask them to call you and send you the terms of this transaction. no further obligation.

This is obviously a scam. Do not give them any information. All I gave them was a phone number to call me!

I responded to an ad on craigslist selling a minivan. I was emailed the vehicle info and told that to complete the transaction and have the vehicle shipped I should utilize American Shippers Line LLC. I called them and they referred me to their website. I went to the "about us" section and it looked reputable and legit. A quick google image search showed that none of the people in the company actually worked there. They stole other images of random professionals and created bio's for them. SCAM. FRAUD. The fellow that picks up the phone sounds Indian...
