A letter came in the mail attempting to collect a debt owed to PayPal, Inc.

I have no PayPal account and they use the wrong name in the address.

This is a phishing scam to to commit fraud.

I received a letter from American Coradius International LLC, trying to collect a "debt" from PayPal of $89.99. They referenced a PayPal account number, which there is none (PayPal is linked to email or phone number). I have NEVER once received anything from PayPal saying I owed this money. I've looked at my account and there is absolutely NO reference to a balance due. I can only assume that this is some sort of scam?

I do not know anything about this letter from a collection agency claiming they representing PayPal. I have never dealt with PayPal.

Received a letter in the mail January 25, 2024 from American Coradius International LLC stating that they are trying to collect a debt of $111.54 that I owe to PayPal, Inc. They stated that the communication is from a debt collector and that I needed to call or write to them by March 1, 2024 (using the account number they had listed on the letter) to dispute all or part of the debt. If I do not they will assume that their information is correct. Had a return slip with my name and address on it along with a box "How do you want to respond". Check all that apply. I want to dispute the debt because I think: This is not my debt; This amount is wrong; Other (please describe on reverse or attach additional information). I want you to send me the name and address of the original creditor. I enclosed this amount. Make your check payable to: American Coradius International LLC Include the reference number ########.

I did research online to find out how to handle this situation. It was suggested that I check my account with PayPal.com to make sure that I do not owe anything. I went to Paypal.com, tried to log into my account. It came back no account on file. I knew this as I do not have an account with them. So now I am reporting it here. I did not send any payment to them.

I received a letter via postal service from American Coradius International LLC where they claim that I owe Paypal $89.78 and they are trying to collect debt from me. They included the reference number 18352082. I called Paypal and indeed the confirmed that I do not owe them anything.

I received a letter in the first week of April 3, 2023, to April 7, 2023.

The letter comes from American Coradius International LLC a debt collector and says they are collecting money that I owe to Pay Pal, Inc. They said I have a Paypal Account and owe them on 11/26/2022 $79.72 dollars. From that day until today additional debits have been applied to my account as $846.83 dollars. THIS IS NOT MY DEBT.

This is the first letter received in my mail and this collector ask to dispute by May 13, 2023 call or write.

If I write to them by May 13, 2023, they must stop collection on any amount to dispute.

I am sure this is a scam and someone pretend to get money from my packet.

Again THIS IS NOT MY DEBT.

Please let me know as soon you get any information.

According to a web search, this company may be a real company but it's name is being used to defraud people out of money. I have attached the letter that was sent to me. I have an active PayPal account; it is secure and used for small purchases. There is no outstanding balance. I have already reported it to PayPal and US Postal Service as well.

Received a letter from American Coradius International LLC indicating that an account with PayPal had been sent to their office for collection. They indicated a balance of $2,936.42. Don't have an account with PayPal; don't owe them money. This is a complete scam!

Sent a letter to my home stating my account with Paypal has been placed with their office for collection. I called Paypal directly and they stated that my account was never in debt. They also stated that my account is in good standing. I donot want to call this company in fear of being scammed.

I received a letter from American Coradius International LLC (office address Amherst, NY) - stating they were attempting to collect a debt from me on behalf of PayPal.

I contacted paypal as I hadn't used their service for this amount, and they had no record of such a debt. This debt did not appear on my credit report either.

Paypal customer service said this sounded like a scam, and I have sent Paypal a copy of the letter I received to investigate.
