Create your account:
If you don’t have an Amazon account, click on “Sign up” to create a new one. Follow the prompts to enter your name, email, and a password.
Complete Your Account Setup:
Once signed in, you’ll be prompted to complete your KDP account setup.
Fill in the required information, including your author name and tax information.
Enter Payment Information:
Provide your bank account details for royalty payments. This is necessary to receive your earnings from book sales.
Review and Agree to Terms:
Read through KDP’s terms and conditions. You’ll need to accept these to proceed.
Finalize Your Account:
After completing the above steps, click “Save and Continue.” Your account will now be set up.
Note: We will need the email and password for your account on the day we publish your book, as we can only publish it through your account. After the book is published, you can change your account credentials. We can stay in touch during the publishing process to ensure you have peace of mind.

The request for credentials to an account in which I've linked my bank account sent up red flags and I refused to follow through. They responded with the following:

I appreciate your concerns, but I must express that it is unusual to raise red flags at this stage of the project, especially when we're nearing completion. Every author we work with provides their verified account details, and based on that, we proceed with publishing the book under their name. Without access to a verified author account, we cannot publish the book under your name.
Regarding the company details, I am unable to provide them at this time, as the project is nearly finished. At this stage, questioning our legitimacy is unnecessary. We have been working diligently on your project, and I assure you that everything is proceeding according to plan.
As for the copyright licensing, it is only provided once the content is finalized. Since your content is still being finalized, the licensing certificate cannot be issued until that process is complete. You will receive the certificate in a couple of weeks once the final version of the content is approved.
Additionally, I will be sharing the invoices for the $1600 payment you made for the services today.

To date, I have received no receipts or invoices for the payments made. I did receive an edited manuscript in Word and PDF format. However, all communication has ceased since I expressed my concerns.
Based on this scenario, I believe this company is not an authentic publishing company and am doing my best to report them to the proper authorities.
