Work at Home Opportunity – New Amazon Job Scam

Scammer called me and solicited to me the opportunity to work for amazon selling Amazon products in there website.

After asking me about my Credit Cards and current employment and job description they abruptly hung up the phone.

I received this email today. I don't have an Amazon account. Normally I delete unsolicited or unknown emails. This one is weird. I have no unauthorized charges on any of my accounts.

''Did you forget? Your $50 Amazon Reward Is Waiting

''

This scam starts with a vehicle for sale well below market price, where the seller used a personal tragedy (husbands death) to try and explain why they were selling it so cheap. They just moved out of state so they are using Amazon to help sell the vehicle. They provided a document (PDF) with lots of Amazon logo's and copyright material and the title was "Amazon Purchase Protection" with a case "ID". Then this is where the scam became very clear. The payment is made "secure" buy purchasing Amazon gift cards with cash in $500 increments. No credit or debit cards are allowed to avoid making any "mistakes". Then you call their 800# for Amazon Support (888-273-8645) to "confirm" your payment. Then... "Upon payment verification, Amazon starts the shipping process. Amazon verifies that the buyer receives the item. The inspection period begins once the item is delivered.

To protect you against the risk of liability, Amazon holds the buyer's funds pursuant to the terms of the Amazon Purchase Protection Service Policy, and any other agreement entered between Amazon and its customers. When payment is received, it will be verified and secured into a non-interest bearing trust account. After payment is secured, Amazon ships the item to the buyer.

Amazon's Payment Guarantee Policy is a unique benefit that offers you protection from unwarranted refunds, allowing you to accept more high risk orders. For all eligible transactions, we will completely reimburse you for any refunds resulting from claims of unauthorized purchases and non-receipt of goods."

But once they have your gift card #'s the deal is done and you are out of your money. There is no car and never was one.

I contacted who I thought was Amazon by phone about a product I was interested in purchasing. I called the number 866-281-0333. As a was speaking to the "Amazon" representative another person came on the line and said that were were on a three way call with Amazon. That person identified himself as a Mr. David D. Miller and offered to sell me a security system for my computer. I told him no but somehow he gained access to my computer anyway. He kept asking me if I did any online banking and what type of websites I liked to visit. I He put these little green locks all over my desktop and now I can no longer use my computer. They are now calling me and threatening legal action if I don't pay them $1500 for the software they installed on my computer.

This morning I received an e-mail from Amazon thanking me for purchasing an expensive chandelier with a delivery address in England.

I hit reply and sent them a return e mail telling them that I had not purchased anything from Amazon. Upon closer examination I saw there was a special button to click if this was not my order. I decided NOT to press the button and just figured it was some kind of a scam.

I am afraid this is a scam. It says its from Amazon, Thank you Member, you have been an outstanding member so we'd like you to accept a $100 Amazon balance! Please be directed towards the acceptance steps below, then has butto to cliock Acceot ($100) Amazon Balance. I did not click on it, I googled address since its Oklahoma and founf its a virtual office building.

I'm not sure if this the real Amazon they didn't seem to know what they were doing my account has been hacked into. These people I recognize there voices from a credit card i had before. They seem to be following me . I changed my phone number. My actual account isn't mine they have a different account on Amazon in have called them concerning this. They seem to be from a different country there accent is broken English.

An online buyer posted a vehicle for sale using Amazon. Amazon's instructions and the buyer informed us that after we purchase and send proof of purchase of the 3 iTunes cards at 500.00 each that they would ship the vehicle to our home at the buyers expense.

After we sent proof of purchase, they now say that we have to pony up an additional 1000.00 to ship the vehicle. This was not part of the original deal, so we asked to cancel the deal since the shipment is advertised as at the buyer's expense, and now it has changed. Amazon is now saying that we will lose 65% of the 1500.00 if we cancel.

This is a pure rip off, and we want all of our money back.
