Type of a scam Online Purchase
Before placing the order, I checked for complaints or scam alerts regarding the site. I checked the return policy which promised return labels upon request. And I checked the address which was listed as in Fontana, CA. There was NO indication on the site that orders would be shipped from China. Almost 2 months later, the sandals finally arrived. They were NOT leather, were poorly made, and neither size fit my Mom.
I requested a return label using the email provided on the site. They responded with a return address and instructions regarding providing them with a tracking number. I responded with a 2nd request for a return label. Their response was that due to a recent policy change, they no longer provided return labels. They offered a 15% refund and the option to retain the sandals as a “gift”, as well as credit towards future purchases. So I sent them a screenshot of their return policy promising return labels, and demanded a return label. Their response was exactly the same with some additional credit towards future purchases thrown in.
At this point, I began to suspect a scam. I checked the directory of the building at the address on their site - they’re not listed. Also, while posting complaints about them on scam tracking websites, I came across a comment posted by someone who’d had a similar experience with them in 2023. This confirmed that the "recent policy change" was a lie. Their fake return policy, fake address and no mention of orders being shipped from China are intended to make shoppers more comfortable making purchases from their site.
