Paid $300 deposit for dachshund puppy that never arrived

Found Sunny Creek Mini Dachshunds with a google search of local dachshund breeders. The phone number on the listing is 941-433-9145. I emailed them to see if the puppy was still available and they responded that she was. A deposit request was made via Apple Pay or Chime. I paid the $300 deposit via Apple Pay and was told the purchase contract would arrive within 24 hours. 2 days later I inquired after not receiving the contract via text to a person who identified as Kristie. She advised that she had been at an event all day and was exhausted and I would receive the contract the next day. When I was asked again for my name and email my red flags started flying. After additional research, I discovered that this same email and phone number was reported to ScamPulse.com as a scam. At this point, I'm grateful to only have lost $300 and will spend my time tracking these individuals in the future to so they can be exposed and prosecuted.
