I recently received a letter in the mail regarding a PayPal account that I have closed and haven’t used in almost a year. When I had the account, I was living at a different address.. the letter states I owe 353.99. I closed my PayPal account because my account was hacked and I had to get my bank to dispute the charges. PayPal said the charges made were legit. I haven’t used my PayPal card and canceled my account. I check my credit report very regularly. I am working on building my credit. I am afraid to contact these people but I do not want it to go on my credit report either.. the collection agency is ACI and everything I have read about this company is sketchy. Anyone have helpful advice!?

ACI left me 2 msgs on my cell that I have an outstanding debt of $5000.00 with Paypal (Paypal Credit Bill Me Later) that I supposedly opened in 2016. I called the 800-213-7163 back with a reference number Chelsey got upset because I would not verify my personal info so she put me on the phone with her "supervisor". He kept asking me my DOB which I would not give. I told him I would call paypal myself so he gave me a bogus number to call, which I did not. Paypal has no reference of this $5000.00 debt.
