I called what I thought was a dish customer service number regarding an increase in my bill. I reached a lady who said her name was Sharon Warner. She said due to a dispute Dish was in, she was representing Dish and Direct tv to provide me with the best possible offer. She then sold me on a direct tv package. I gave her personal information and my credit card number. When I told my husband, he did not feel good about it, so we called her back and told her we wanted to cancel the order. The more we discussed it, we felt like it was a scam. The following morning a direct tv installation man contacted me about an order that he had received to put in direct tv at my home, but the order did not look right. It did not have what package I had purchased, it did not have any notes attached to it, and he was calling for clarification. When I told him about my conversation with "Sharon," he and I both felt like I had been scammed. He told me that scammers were some how able to intersect calls made to dish and direct tv.
