I receive a letter in the mail for a vehicle I do not have. There was no name of a business, only a phone number. I don’t even have this vehicle.

- Austin, TX, USA • Apr 06, 2026

I received a letter in the mail saying that it was the final notice of my warranty coverage on my 2024 Mazda CX-5 was at risk of being deactivated. This is exactly what the letter says:

Our records indicate that you have not contacted us regarding the vehicle service contract on your vehicle.

Please call 1-888-307-2075 with your current mileage before April 6, 2026.

By neglecting to activate your coverage you will be at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs after your factory warranty expires. However, you still may have time left to activate coverage on your vehicle before it's too late. Final acceptance is subject to your ability to meet eligibility requirements.

This may be our only attempt to contact you about activating your vehicle service contract. We reserve the right to revoke your service coverage if you do not meet our criteria.

- Jamaica Plain, MA, USA • Nov 22, 2025

Contacted about “vehicle service contract” and demanded phone call to update car mileage on a new car. No indication of business name or location. Claimed to be time sensitive.

- Millington, TN, USA • Nov 14, 2025

When I called to ask for my info to be removed from calling list they first insist on verifying my info, then argue with me, talking over me all while trying to get my vehicle info, mileage etc. They are fishing for personal info a supposedly trying to sell warranty but my new vehicle has manufacturer warranty and the lady is insisting the manufacturer will need my card (she’ll send once I pay) before doing repairs. All BS & it’s very simple to remove someone from a mailing list with their code number from paper she pulled up my info as well as 3 cars I’ve owned in the past (one even was private sale so dealer didn’t sale them info). I would love to know how they got my info and why they won’t just delete me from their list.

- Eden Prairie, MN, USA • Sep 30, 2025

Bought a new car this year and started receiving letters about needing to contact them to activate my extended warranty due to it being time sensitive.

- Cheyenne, WY, USA • Sep 05, 2025

Time Sensitive letter received informing mme that I HAVE NOT CONTACTED them to get my contract up to date.

NOTE: There is NO COMPANY NAME, NO COMPANY ADDRESS, only 888-307-2075 a toll free telephone number. Call that number and you will get to talk to a lying person explaining that your factory is NOT good enough to repair your vehicle. It appears that these liars will tell you the earth is flat if that what it takes to get your credit card number. The letter is signed by Tabitha Jones, Program Coordinator. If that is a real person, I'll be shocked.

- Needham Heights, MA, USA • Aug 17, 2025

I received a letter informing me the factory warranty on my automobile has expired and I will be liable for all repairs. Instructed to call a number 888-307-2075 by 8/26/2025 to confirm my eligibility for extended coverage. I was asked to give my VIN and current millage and warned that final acceptance is subject "to your ability to meet eligibility requirements." It also stated this "may be our only attempt to contact you about activating your vehicle service contract. We reserve the right to revoke your eligibility for service. Call within 5 days to ensure eligibility."

- Richmond, TX, USA • Jul 15, 2025

This is a car warranty scam. They use language to try and scare you into responding, by telling you that your car warranty is about to expire and you will not be covered if your car breaks down.

- Lakeville, MA, USA • Jul 09, 2025

This is a letter that comes periodically and is marked "Official Business". Then the letter states that if your warrantee expires on your car, you will be liable for repair charges. (DUH!) They ask you to call with your VIN number and they seem to know what year and make of car you own. While it is obvious to me this is a scam, the intentional use of words like "official" and "financially liable" makes this extremely scary for someone who doesn't know better - say a very young driver or elderly. Further, there is no company name nor address on this at all - just a phone number demanding your VIN and your current mileage. They should be shut down immediately before someone calls them out of fear and hands over a credit card.

Letter from the “Vehicle Services Division” stating “Final Notice” and informing us the vehicle coverage on our car (with year, make, and model) may be expiring or already expired. Asks us to respond by 10 July 2025. Hours to call are Central Standard Time (CST) and postage permit #5497 says mailed from Saint Louis MO. The letter includes a detachable “Registration Fee Voucher” (with fine print stating “not a check”) of $299.00.

I receive these phishing letters every few weeks. The latest letter included a Registration Fee Voucher for $225.
