Person called denied they were a collection agency/debt collector and said they were in fact a pre litigation company. They used employer information from 2017, an employer who was closed by the feds. I thought it was something affiliated but she went on to allege that I had $1300 unpaid bill from 2020 to Bruce furniture store. She also alleged I was mailed debt settlement and did not need to provide proof of debt. She offered an option to settle a debt directly with the store and would transfer me, she was unsuccessful and told me to call the store directly.

Not only did she deny being a debt collector she said she was going to file docs with court but did not work for a law firm, and did not know what attorney would show up. Her vernacular was also suspicious as she had a hard time reiterating what was actually happening.
