I received a mailer stating that Me and my spouse are cordially invited to attend the 2025 Travel and Adventure Showcase valued at $1,180. I don't see a report in your system about this at bbb.oRg. Is this a scam?

First of all, I do not know how much money the scammer attempted to take, as I didn't follow through. But it's an amount....and it says the "value of the award is $1180."

So.......I received a mailing that looked like it was a check - with perforated edges and all. Once I opened it, it was a very fake looking little letter with "American - United - Southwest" on the top. It says I am invited to attend our 2025 Travel and Adventure Showcase and promises a $100 dining voucher good at over 45k restaurants. I have to call "within 24 hours." It gives some silly "promo code." I called the toll-free number 877-220-0444 and "Shannon" answered, "Reservations." She asked first for my promo code. I said, "First, what company did I reach? 'Reservations' for...what company?" She snapped, "I represent hotels all over the country." I asked however WHAT company sent this mailer...what company is representing this supposed Travel and Adventure Showcase, what is that and what company did I reach? She started talking over me before I could finish my sentence, saying, "MA'AM, as I told you, I represent and do reservations for hotels all over the country." She was very rude from that point on, literally yelling at me over the phone (all the while never telling me what this offer was really for) and I finally hung up. I don't see a report in your bbb.org system so I wanted to report this. I hope you look into it.
