I received a letter in the mail that states that I need to call them about "a matter regarding my loan with [mortgage company]." Then, at the bottom in tiny print, it says they are not affiliated with my mortgage company. The letter also states that i need to "CALL IMMEDIATELY, as this will be our final attempt to notify you".

Attached to the letter is what looks like a check, but is not. Instead of "Pay to the order of", it just has "to the order of". Then, instead of "amount", it says "allocated waiver", with the amount of $199 dollars. on the back, there is an endorsement line, just like a real check would have.

Received letter today. No company name/website/email listed only the phone number 800-260-1594. A fake check in the amount of $199.00 was attached. The letter did have my lender name listed but only to call immediately to the phone number.

Came in the mail--looks like a check, with tear-off pieces on both sides. Front of envelope says "THIS NOTICE IS TIME SENSITIVE: SENT ON 2/12/2025, INFORMATION FOR THE MORTGAGEE ONLY, IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED" And right above the address window is: "Lender Info: American Mortgage Network Inc"

Interior includes Contact phone (800) 260-1594 and Record ID: CH13112577 and "Call to verify the above information"

"This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at (my address) secured by your current lender which is American Mortgage Network Inc. We reserve the right to revoke allocated waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice" And then there's something that looks like a check, says "Allocated Waiver" over "$199.00" but at the bottom: "Not all consumers have previous coverage. Not affiliated with American Mortgage Network Inc. THIS IS NOT A CHECK"

I received a "Final Notice" with check in the mail. It listed my Lender as Ally Bank, but that's not my current lender so I knew it was probably a scam. There is no information that identifies the send or owner of the 800 number, there's not even a bank listed on the check. Since I'm fairly sure that if I call the number listed on the notice, they will attempt to get personal information or request money from me, so I did not call. I do want to report this was sent to my home address in Little Rock, Arkansas so you have that for your records.

Received this suspicious check in the mail with no banking or routing info...no address for sender...appears to be from ****** ***** bank...allocated waiver check fir $199 and toll free number to calll and Spanish speaker's number to call...

I saw the letter, exactly as described above, and was suspicious. I googled it and ended up here. Putting it in the trash!

I received a letter that was "final notice". Immediate response requested. Top of letter has County Deed Records listed. No county listed. No company name. Letter states that my property home warranty secured by AmSouth Bank is expiring or may be expired. Urging me to call the number immediately before it's too late. This is the second letter I have received in the last 6 months. Exact same type of letter from county deed records. Says call immediately as this will be their final attempt to update my home warranty. It has a " To the Order of" look-like a check to me. The bottom of the letter says it's a registration fee voucher and that this "is not a check". Has an urgent expiration date. No company name, no address only a phone number and an ID number. The number to call is 800-260-1594. Looks like a scam to collect your information or steal identity. Home warranty fee voucher???
