Suspicious calls pretending to be Bank of America
Approximately two hours later, someone called our home phone number. The caller ID displayed Bank of America. My mom returned the call, and the person stated that the account had been placed on hold and requested account information. Believing she was speaking with Bank of America, she provided a credit card number and her Social Security number.
We contacted the bank again, and they confirmed that no outbound calls had been made from Bank of America. As a precaution, we will be setting up alerts on all account activity and taking additional steps to secure the accounts.
