I was deceived through an impersonation scam on WhatsApp. The individual who contacted me falsely represented themselves as someone I knew and trusted. I sent the $480 because I genuinely believed I was communicating with that person. I did not knowingly send money to the actual recipient and would never have authorized the payment had I known the true identity of the person requesting the money.
