Failed paint job

He walked up to my husband and said he could fix my missing paint on my car for $200. So we decided to get it fixed. When my husband finally took the paint tape off the car the paint came off too. I tried to reverse the payment on cash app but I got no response from him William Demitro.

Bill (William Demitro) knocked on my door and offered to repair a corner dent and 2 rusted cab-corners on my Avalanche for $600. That price was in line with what I've seen advertised by other mobile body workers on Facebook Marketplace (~$200 per affected area) so I foolishly assumed he was legit. He and his son got started after I plugged their extension cord into an outlet and I went inside to work, figuring I'd check back in a couple of hours to see the progress. In less than 2 hours, Bill knocked again stating they were done as far as they could get, but would have to return the next day with a replacement for my tailgate, which they had cut out (destroyed) to get access to the dented corner. There was other work I wasn't satisfied with that Bill said they would square away the next day. The white paste others have mentioned in their complaints was smeared over all the areas they had worked on, and I was told it was a sealant that needed to dry completely to protect the new paint, not to touch it, and they would buff it all out when they returned the next day with the tailgate. I don't know why I didn't withhold at least partial payment until the job was totally done, but the scam was just that smooth. They didn't return, obviously, don't answer phone calls, and don't have a voice mailbox set up for messages. I buffed the white haze off and see it has damaged the original paint underneath. The rest of the work was hidden under tape and super thin aluminum flashing, is shoddy at best. It will cost me more to repair what they've done in addition to the amount they scammed me for than if I had just had the original problems handled by MAACO. Shame on me for being so gullible, and pat yourself on the back if you were smart enough to Google this A-hole for a review before "hiring" him; you've saved yourself a headache.

He rang my doorbell on 08/16/21 and said he could fix a dent on the side of my honda pilot for $200. After he was done, he put a layer of something on it and said wait until tomorrow to let it dry, it would look like new. The next day to clean up the top layer that he put on, the color was dull, did not match the color of my car. It was a mess. Try to call him, left messages, never heard from him. He had an Instagram account. I will trace to find where he lives and call police.

Drove up in pickup truck and had wife and dog in car on a really hot day. Said he noticed I had a dent, scratches in car and on top of the roof on my van and can fix it like new. I asked how much and he said $300. I thought he was going to take it to his body shop but ended up doing it in my drive way. I paid him by check and said he was done and we just had to get a rag and wipe it. Not so. Went to two different places to get prices to fix it and both said a couple of thousand. He made a complete mess.
