Scammed When Buying a Kitten

I did a search for Maine [censored] kittens for sale. This was August 27.2022. I received a text message from Gabriel Chasma 8/28/22 at 12:53 AM, explaining it was $850 for a kitten, and that he was located in Mendocino CA. He said it would be another $130 for transport costs, and that I could send the funds by either direct deposit or wire transfer. He gave me his information as follows: Account Name - Gabriel W Chasma, RTN - 256078446, Account # 7602777018. I paid through my online bill pay the $980.00. I was first told delivery would be Tuesday, 8/30/22, at 6pm by a pet courier at my home. I sent him a confirmation of the transaction. On Monday, 8/29/22, I received an email confirmation from Express Logistics Carrier, with a tracking number, stating my kitten would be delivered Wednesday, 8/31/22, at 4pm to my home. It also said there would be a rental fee for the carrier to use its own crate for the kitten. Chasma contacted me by text 8/30/22, explaining he was billed for the crate rental and I was to send the funds to him for it. I should expect another email from the carrier containing what I owed for the rental. I received the carrier's email at 3:25pm 8/30/22, stating that I owed $985, but that the funds would be returned to me in cash when the kitten was delivered. I immediately texted Chasma and said that was ridiculous and I should have been told upfront about the additional fee. Chasma apologized and said he did not know what the fee would be .I told him I was not a rich woman and Chasma said he would follow up and make sure I got my money back. I then asked him for a photo of his cattery's TICA membership. Instead, I was emailed the pedigree of a cat that is TICA registered. I then texted him and asked for the official name of his cattery so that I can make sure he truly is registered with TICA. At that point, he said he didn't want me to send the funds. I asked if that meant there was no kitten. He then accused me of playing games and said he had no time for that. Chasma sent a few more texts saying that if i wanted the kitten, I needed to pay him the $985. I told him I would not pay a total of $1,965 with absolutely no guarantee of receiving a kitten. That's when he stopped texting.

This so call cattery sells kittens on line, seams all legit, we sent them money to purchase a kitten through zelle, once we sent them the money they said we has to rent an electrical crate and that as soon as the kitten was delivered we would receive our 985.00 back for the rental. They sent us a confirmation number so we can track the kitten through another bogus shipping company called express showing carrier. When we saw that the confirmation number wasn’t being found we got in touch with them and they kept reassuring us that the kitten would get delivered in 2 days, we then for an email saying that the kitten needed health insurance and that it would cost 900.00 that would also be refundable. We informed this so call company asked for our money back for the kitten and crate since they were coming up with all these extra unnecessary charges that are not on the websit. We were suppose to have the kitten by Monday 5-2-22, it is now Wednesday 5-4-22, no kitten and no refund and they are ignoring my calls
