My family and I received numerous phone calls from Well Guard Pre-Legal Services. They said they received a formal complaint filed against me and were taking me to court. They shared this information with my family and friends (which is against the law according to the Fair Credit Reporting Act). I called back the number and a woman answered by the name of Martha Duncan but at first, she called herself Ms. Duncan. She didn't let me know this was an attempt to collect a debt - she just stated that I had taken a payday loan out back in 2020. This payday loan would not be reported to the credit bureau because they "get your bank information and send you the money". I asked for paperwork and she said that they will serve me court papers instead. Still waiting on the court papers but they had some of my old personal information.
