I found a remote job at Walmart on LinkedIn. I followed all of the prompts and ended up paying for a credit and background check. I started noticing spelling errors in the emails I was receiving, so I Googled the email address only to find out it is a scam.

I was called my an automation that said Walmart flagged a purchase as suspicious. I don’t shop at Walmart in any fashion. They said a PS5 was ordered and being shipped to New York. I live in Michigan. They gave me old names and old addresses of mine telling me I had two Walmart accounts with my bank information associated. I said I’ll stop payment with my bank because I don’t trust this call and he hung up on me.

Received a voicemail from "Paul" which sounded digitized. The following message repeated "Hey, this is Paul from WalMart. Phone message , 2 days in a row, on 2/4 from Wrightwood, CA

On 2/5 voicemail same person if’s as Michael, from 920-975-5228 Greenlesf, WI Hey this Michael same thing a pre authorized… on your Walmart account for Play station 919. Call us back. Called on 2/4 and 2/5. Different phone numbers same voice identified as Michael.

They said they were loss prevention from "The Walmart" and a purchase was just made in my name and is out for delivery in New Mexico and they found it suspicious. Then the said they see multiple bank accounts under my name and wanted the name of my bank to contact them so I would not be held responsible. I said I thought this was suspicious and would contact my bank directly. They then started listing credit card companies I have had which I assume is from my credit report? I then hung up.

Received a voice message saying a purchase was made at Walmart for $901 on my credit card. I called the number back and they claimed to have a federal case open on criminals that had opened 20 bank accounts and were laundering money through them. I was given the persons Fed ID 3356A7A1 who is (Inspector General). I gave up approximate balances in my accounts and where they existed (they did not want account numbers). the phone number I talked to was PHONE NUMBER I was forwarded to special agent that also offered a fed ID. I asked to get on facetime and he could show me his badge. He gave several excuses when I asked him to e-mail it to me he put me on hold so I hung up. Then I hung up and called my financial institutions to report the incident.

Received a voicemail from phone number I did not recognize. A recording of a woman's voice. Said she was Nicole King (?) from Walmart and a pre-authorization in the amount of $893.72 for a smart TV. The recording skipped like a record several times. I do not have a Walmart account. I did not order anything from Walmart.

Walmart has a breach in their security system and it is not the first time it has happened to me. Purchases are made using my bank or venmo account and they are not on my Walmart account because I do not make the purchases. When calling walmart customer service their answer is that "they do not see the purchase" and yeah I know you do not because it is not on my account but it is being taken from my bank. I do not shop in the store often so I know it is not a credit card scheme using their card readers it is specifically online through their website www.walmart.com. Luckily I get my money back everytime but this results in waiting 10 business days for a new card to come in the mail because walmart is doing this. They need to be looked into.

Received a voicemail from PHONE NUMBER saying someone had ordered a PlayStation five charged to my Walmart account for $919.45. I called the number and told him I do not have a Walmart account and to cancel any order. He said the order was to be delivered to ADDRESS. He said he would cancel the order. The only information I gave him was my name. He had my address. The PHONE NUMBER  was from Meridian, Mississippi. I looked up the address and it is close to Rolssleville.
