The $1500 they wanted pays for nothing

Vocal Star is at least 90% a scam, the event may be real but I have researched and found absolutely 0 success stories. The 1500 they ask for is non-refundable after 24 hours and even then they only give you half back saying half was for the “training” and can’t be refunded. The “training” includes abhorrently simple middle school choir level tips like voice warm ups and breathing techniques, how to stand on a stage and hold a mic that you just payed over $700 for. The rest of that money does not cover travel, or food, or the hotel. Instead they give you a “group discount” code for 20% off your room. They prey on young people who want to make it in the music industry with false promises, taking thousands of your dollars so you can perform for them and then you go nowhere. Absolutely disgusting, I had personally taken this route myself and want no one else to lose the $1500+ that I did.

My friend sent me a link and it was a vocal star. I auditioned on Zoom and they picked me and said I won. They said we would have to pay $1,500 to do the program to where I can be trained by vocalists. Then you would perform in front of vocalist. I think this would all happen on Zoom. I could clearly see the person through Zoom. The man who auditioned with me said he is a Grammy award-winning Executive Producer and an author. Because of COVID-19 he said we were auditioning over Zoom. I'm 15-years-old. I'm going to school in Webb City, MO for high school. I'm moving in with my aunt. I currently live with my grandparents in Cahokia, Illinois.

So I don’t mean to go against your thoughts. But VocalStar is real! Yes, it’s expensive, but its real. My audition was in person. I made it and am going to Los Angeles in August. You do get the training they say you’re going to get, and yes, George Caceres is a producer. If you look him up, you can see the credits of his works and what he’s produced. I’m sorry your experience was sucky. No one likes that.
