Text me a message with a case number and a phone # to call saying I was being sue in court by VIP Loan shop for not paying back a loan for $3,489.76. I told I never heard of them and to send me a copy of the original paperwork and they hung up the phone

The caller identified himself as Jacob and said I have a judgement against me for unpaid loan with VIP Loan Shop. He had my social security number and my address. He said they had made multiple attempts to contact me via mail (which they have not) and that now I needed to pay over the phone or go to court. I told him I have never had a loan out with that company and I would not continue having a conversation with him about it. I will be checking my credit report for any suspicious activity.

He had all my personal information, social security, an old bank account, birthday? And he said that I got a loan on my older account which I never have. You said they were suing me unless I paid.

The text message sent to me from the scammer is attached.

Message said notice of default due to miss payments on the loan repayment agreement the account is in default and an order for judgment will be issued in my county of residence on 624 2022 at 12 PM EST. To avoid this action contact their office at 866-317-4759. The text message came from the phone number 470-574-4203 .
