I closed on my first house over one month ago. Now I am getting calls from Veri-Tax to verify my employment, which I already did directly with my lender and bank through out the process. I asked my loan officer if this was legitimate and he said absolutely not and that is this a scam. There is no reason to verify employment after closing especially so far after. Watch out for these people they are scammers.

We received a call about an employee asking for employment verification, and all of his personal info such as SSN, and all other info he would have given to the mortgage company he used to buy his house. They say they are helping with an audit, and want us to email them all of his information. He forwarded the email they sent to us to his actual mortgage company and they said it is a scam and that we should not respond to them.
