Emailed from '[email protected]' initially with an email that looked official threatening fines for missed renewals and dissolving my company. I paid the fine not realizing it wasn't official and it was a third party and then when I immediately realized contacted the email and received an email refusing to refund the charge.

There was a tiny sentence in smaller font underneath disclosing they were 3rd party but the company is intentionally misleading to profit from a free service.

I received this email and thought it was the state of VA. I had already sent our form in but thought something has gone wrong, that perhaps it was lost. By the time I realized what was happening it was too late. I emailed the company to say they I had mistakenly paid and asked for a refund. I called my bank to dispute the transaction once I saw the other online reviews/warnings about this scam. The company will not refund the money. They did file the paperwork, allegedly but the form they sent “from the state” could easily be forged/faked. In any case, these people use scare tactics and charge $100 to file a $25 form, that I had already sent in. We are a small nonprofit and this company took advantage of us. They are now threatening me with collection agencies.

We received an email stating that "the deadline to file our annual registration is approaching. Missing the deadline will result in your business being fined and administratively dissolved." It then lists my businesses legal name, address, and the date that I originally registered as a business with the VA SCC. "Click Here to File Now" brings you to their website which has the same personal information plus the entity type and a fake SCC ID. They ask you to update your info. That's where I stopped. I had just paid my annual SCC fee on the real VA website, so I think that must have triggered it somehow.
