A company name US Postage Meter Center, Inc. sent us an invoice for $493.90 claiming to supply our postage meter. After researching the company, it appears to be a fraudulent business that sends invoices to companies in hopes they will be paid without verification. I contacted the company at (800) 777-6335 and spoke with a woman named Deana. She was unable to provide any details about the invoice and appeared very nervous, frequently stuttering during the call. She also stated that she could only communicate via email at [email protected] and was unable to fax any supporting documentation. Additionally, the company does not appear to have a website, and the invoice itself looks suspicious. When I attempted to call back for further clarification, the call was abruptly ended. Based on these factors, the invoice appears to be fraudulent and should not be paid.
