Was subscribing to Disney plus, my app on tv gave me a code to load to disneys website titled Disneyplus.com/begin. i put this in the search window on my laptop and the site disney.plus begin.com loaded. looked legit when opened the home page read Disneyplus.com/begin with spot to enter TV code. When code entered it stated there is an error and to contact technical assistance at 1-800 596-1589. when I called the tech Andy said "oh there is something wrong with your computer, the tv and disney site are ok. H ask to access my laptop (1st wrong move) and showed me a window with a list of Trojan Horse programs and said "this is your problem, we need to clean this it takes time and will cost $399.99. I said ok (second mistake) and he proceeded to load Webroot and Ccleansweep. took all of about 5 minutes and said what is the code for disney,. He loaded the code and disney was playing. He took my credit card #, email and phone number. He also told me to have the bank authorize the payment to his company (3rd mistake). and we ended the call. Got a gut feeling I got scammed. I got on my bank site and blocked the card. Then noticed some programs on my laptop wouldn't work, found out it was because of the Webroot program. Long story short, had to have my works IT guy wipe the hard drive clean and reload all my previous programs. this site is misleading, (riding the back of the Disney URL). contacted Disney and they have no connection with this company. Stay away from this company and NEVER let anyone access your personal computer, I knew better but just wasn't thinking. they keep calling me, but at this point if I answer I think it may get ugly.

I bought a new canon pixma printer and the getting started manual directed me to go online to install the printer drivers at ij-start.canon and start download of drivers. When clicking on what I thought was the canon website the getting started message on screen showing a printer and canon logo and entering the printer model, a fatal message appeared with a phone number to call technical support which I did. He asked to look at my computer to see what was preventing the driver download and I let him look into my computer. Ha stated there were trojans preventing download. He said he could remove the trojans and install the drivers. He said he would install a lifetime firewall and virus program for a sizeable fee. Thinking afterwards it was a scam, I cancelled my credit card to prevent payment. Now I'm being harassed by telephone calls from various numbers and voice mails requesting payment.
