Type of a scam Government Grant

They called from one number and told me that I had been chosen for a grant From the government free $9,000 and I wouldn't have to pay any of it back. They gave me a money confirmation number To call another number and speak with Janet Owens. So I called her and she She told me that in order to get the $9,000 loaded onto my card that I would have to pay $250 fee and then $9,000 would be loaded onto my card So I gave them a prepaid card that I have that I've never used I gave them That number from that debit Card and I told her I did not have $250 and why couldn't they just take it out of the $9,000 that they were trying to give me and she said they couldn't So I informed her at this point that I was also recording that phone call because I record all my phone calls That didn't seem to spook her any about this grant. She said that the $250 would be refunded as soon as the $9,000 loaded onto my prepaid Mastercard .They did not ask me at any time for my social security number or any of my bank information or anything .So that had me almost hooked.

The only personal information they asked of me was to verify my address and my phone number and my age.

So we seem to be finished with the phone call at that point and she told me to call her back gave me her extension number her phone number which 206 707-900-6760 Extension 1167.

After the phone call was over, I Googled and looked up anything about the scam and found it to actually be a scam But they almost had me because they never asked me for any personal information.So when I looked and saw that it is a scam I decided to report it to the ScamPulse.com as I'm doing now. It would be nice to have $9,000 But I don't have $250 to pay for $9,000 So guys don't get your hopes up about these phone calls they ARE scams just hang up on them.
