I executed a contract with Timothy Earl Combs (Unique Renovations & Construction) to do some renovations to a house I'm moving into soon in Joelton, TN. He appeared knowledgeable and he gave me a great price. Unbeknownst to me, he posted a pic on Facebook of 25 hundred dollar bills strewn on a seat with the caption, "Ahh.......the smell of green" under it an hour after I wrote him a check for a down payment. He called the next day to ask me for a credit card number so that he could buy materials. I told him that the money I provided ($2500) was for materials. I told him that I would meet him at Lowe's and pay for the materials, but that he was NOT getting a credit card number. He disappeared after this. I texted him several times, but he said that he was in Alabama, even though his Facebook posts showed him jaunting all over Nashville. I finally Googled his name and found out that he was a Violent Sex Offender (sexually assaulted a 9 year old) and that he had been charged with Theft by Deception (Decatur, AL) and had other drug-related charges. Yikes! I immediately called him and demanded my money back. (The home where he was going to perform the work had a family with 4 children living there.) I have also had text communication with him and he refuses to return my money. I posted a warning on some neighborhood "Hip" pages in an attempt to warn others about him (this is where he trolls for work) and I have located several more recent victims. We are in the process of sharing information and deciding upon a legal course to have him prosecuted. He has no intentions of returning our money. He also has a cohort, Leticia Griffin, who accompanies him on estimates and jobs. DO NOT USE OR RECOMMEND THIS GUY!!!
