I received a phone call from 419-262-1768 saying my Toledo Edison service will be cut off in 30 minutes. I hung up. 262 is a cell number and my bill is up to date with payment.

I was contacted and told I needed to pay a past due amount or electric would be shut off in 30-45 minutes. They advised they were with Toledo Edison.

Apr 13, 2021 at approximately 4:22pm a voicemail message stating someone needs to respond to the number provided ASAP. The message said a disconnect was in place unless payment was made. Upon calling the 800# a recorded voice announced thank you for calling Toledo Edison and clicked over to female who gave the name Amelia Buogos at extension 7010. She said she was in the corporate office of Toledo Edison and that the account was overdue and a disconnect was in place unless a $600+ payment was made. After being told by the treasurer of this church that payments are paid by direct withdrawal Ms. Buogos disconnected the call.

An automated message called and said the electricity would be shut off in 30 minutes due to nonpayment. The bills are always paid on time. They insisted it was not paid and would be shut off. When pressed for information they hung up.

Entered by ScamPulse.com Employee(NMS). Received call that Electric bill was late. Told me to go to 7/11 or Rite Aid to get a green dot card & then call him back with the #'s from the card. Call Mr. Frank ext 112 ph # 800-840-0553. When I knew I was being scammed I asked him for my account #. He said he could not share it because that was confidential!!!

Received call from a Toledo Edison rep that stated bill past due & electricity would be shut off with the hour. Also stated that Kroger is scamming & not forwarding utility payment money to them. Told to go to a Kiosk to pay bill. Both addresses were homes not businesses. He told me to call him when I arrived at location (kiosk) to pay bill.

Fry HVAC received a call from 1-800-447-3333 on 2/26/20 at 10:47 a.m. and at 10:49 a.m. stating that they are from Toledo Edison and they will be turning off the power to 1909 Tremainsville Rd if we do not make a payment now over the phone right away and insisted on giving them our utility account number. Our office stated that they should have that information. The foreign person stated that we needed to call 800-556-6150 and give them our bank account number to stop disconnection right away. We called the number and it states 791 the number you dialed is not in service. After doing some investigation on line there is someone out there is spoofing, the Toledo Edison number and trying to collect money from people.

I received a phone call from a local number posing to be a contractor for Toledo Edison. Saying that my account was recently overcharged and they are offering a $50 credit and 30% discount and they needed my info in order to give me my credit on to my account. He was very rude and demanding wanting my info and when I told him that I did not have my info and Bill with me at the time and kept refusing to give it to him he eventually hung up.

I received a robo call stating that it was Toledo Edison and they were going to shut off my power in 30 minutes for non payment if I don't call 800-473-5770 immediately. My account with Toledo Edison is current, so I went to Toledo Edisons website. Their website clearly states that customers who are behind on their accounts will receive a written notice of possible disconnection and how to prevent it.The website also states that Toledo Edison does not call or email to demand immediate payment to avoid same day shut off.

Called pretending to be a utility service on the way to disconnect my power for Christmas. Told me I had to send $500 at walgreens to an account ending in 0110 using express payment to stop the disconnection. Called me multiple times.

A person called to verify cutoff of power to our church address at noon today. Gave me a number to call 1-800-566-7151, a reference number 97462008 and his name (Nick-#10473) to call and stop the cutoff. I didn't call this number but instead called Toledo Edison at the number listed in the phone book and they verified that everything is fine with our account. There is no shutoff pending. They verified that the phone number given does not belong to any Toledo Edison office in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, or Pennsylvania.

Received a call from a person with a foreign accent telling me that Toledo Edison was mandated a rate reduction but I needed to give them my customer number, meter number and name in order to get the reduction. I tried to question them closely about this. I don't know how this would work but I confess that after much questioning I gave them the information. If

Two men and one woman came to my apartment complex posing as utility workers. They were very rude, mean and nasty attempting to collect debt for Toledo Edison. One of the men nearly got into a fight with my neighbor. I am very upset at this. How do they know where we live? They knocked door to door.
