I submitted a job application through Career Builder for a data entry job. The company Tencent Holdings, emailed me for an interview and I thought it would be over zoom. Whoever contacted me conducted the interview over whatsapp then later told me he would send a laptop and a check to my address. They told me that they would train me as soon as the check arrives.Also the salary was way too high for someone who was clearly under qualified.

An individual contacted me claiming to be an HR representative of Tencent Holdings Ltd. This particular company is a Chinese company and is a legitimate business. They claimed to have found my resume on Career-Builder.com where I placed my application looking for employment. This individual offered me an interview for a Project Management position paying 55 dollars an hour. I have no managerial experience and my resume reflects that fact, however, this individual said they would be willing to work with me and provide training for the position. I looked up the job posting and found a legit posting on Glasswire for the position, however, when we were arranging the interview, the individual refused to agree to a video call. This was a large red flag. I also got in contact with Tencent Holdings and they had no record of being in contact with me for a possible interview.
