I had the exact experience as the person above. I was browsing online for HP tech support to get my HP Tango printer back online. A window saying "Chat support" floated across my screen and I clicked it. That took me down the rabbit hole to Systmec (LLC in Wyoming?) and chatting with Alex on the phone, and then letting him TeamViewer into my machine. He ran netstat in Terminal to show me that supposed bad actors had infiltrated my Mac. Only after passing off my router info and then my credit card info for a $179.99 security package that would fix my machine did it finally occur to me to do a little more research. The Systmec web site looks a bit fake, but there is no clear indication of fraud online other than this post above--my second google hit. There is only one number to call--844-457-7041--and Alex will call you back. He is a "Level 3 technician for HP and Microsoft Products and Services."

Type of a scam: Tech Support

I gave a techinician from Systmec (or that is where the docusign contact came from) my checking account routing number and account number for amount of $334.28

He gave me his number as Alex Matthew 520-448-9798 or 1-844-457-7041 with EMP id as HP89702.

I HAD CALLED A NUMBER FOR HP TANGO PRINTER SUPPORT, SO IT MAY BE OK.

But I got nervous about giving a routing number and checking account numnber since he shared my computer screen, and then sent a docu-sign contract. He was viewing my screen through teambuilder but I don't remmember giving permission. It seemed like he could see all my devices (computers, cell phone, printers, Kindles etc)

I called my bank today to close that checking account and open a new one so he does not have my correct account number.

WHat else should I do to protect myself. I tried to find Systemec both in Lakewood, CA and Sheriden, WY on the Better Business site but nothing was recognized.

PLEASE HELP and advise.
