Saw ad on Facebook Marketplace for 40' shipping container. Made contact via Messenger and was asked for zip code and address for a quote. Received quote via online link. Once quote was approved we received and invoice from Swift Container with instructions to ACH the funds to them. After payment was made we were given a delivery date of the next business day. On the day of delivery we received an email asking for a 10% tax to be paid along with refundable insurance for a total of $1,214.00. After calling the number on the invoice we were informed that the truck was somewhere on the side of the road in our state and was being held by "tax enforcement" and could not leave until the tax was paid. I told them I would pay when the container arrived at my yard. Since my reply they have not responded to any phone calls or emails.
