Type of a scam Online Purchase
Used Google flights to search for available flights. When a match was found, clicked on it and was sent to travelwednesday.com. This site looked legit. Flight was booked and confirmation email was sent. Cost for tix = $1011.
Then travelWednesday called and said seats on flight were not guaranteed but would be for an additional $611.
Hmmm. Seems fishy. Hung up and called credit card company.
They said they had no record of any transactions or purchases.
Soon after, travelwednesday called back and said that the credit card company had declined the transaction and asked for us to use a different card.
Of course we declined this request and called the credit card company back who once again stated that no charge was ever made.
Card immediately cancelled due to this but clearly travelwednesday was scamming us or at the very least engaging in horrible business practices.
They tried to extort over 600 dollars and are probably bad actors actually using a somewhat reputable website to rip people off
