We posted an ad on craigslist to sell a pair of speakers for $800. We were contacted with an offer for our ad and then start initiating contact with the "buyer". This person wanted to send us a cashiers check by mail and when we deposited the check, he would ask us to pay the "movers". We received the check in a priority mail envelop from the USPS and did not realize that the label was self-printed. We then opened the envelop and saw the check was written for $2450. We deposited the check and then dispersed the funds to the correct "movers", later that night my wife and I found out that the cashier check was a scam and we had been taken advantage of.
