I received the scammer's business info from alibaba.com. I was looking to purchase some electronic items from his business. We agreed on the price and $1,690 was sent to him via zelle. He sent me the shipment confirmation and tracking number after receiving my payment. The shipping company he used was www.nyklinelog.com. I was able to track where the package at all time so everything was going according to plan. Two days later when the package finally reached my home state I get a text message from him stating there is a hold on the shipment due to "Import Permit Tax Cost" which would cost an additional $700. I was extremely upset because this was never communicated to me before. And he wanted me to zelle the money to another person that I've never dealt with. I refused and told him I would only send the money to him and he should take care of the rest. After making the additional payment of $700 I got confirmation from him and the shipping company that the package was released and on its way. That same night I got another text message saying the package was on hold again due to "the certificate of ownership" and this was 100% refundable upon delivery. The amount requested was for $880. I called him right away and asked for an explanation as to what was going on. He assured me this was 100% refundable and would be the last charge and my package will be delivered the same day. He requested the payment be made to another person via zelle. I sent him the payment for the $880 and waited. The story gets better........I got another text message from him a few hours later asking for another payment of $1,200 for Demurrage and handling fee. At that point I told him I am not sending any more money. I requested that his company pay for the $1,200 as none of these charges were communicated to me. He obviously refused and told me more charges might be incurred if I don't remit the $1,200. I've requested for my refund and have not heard back.
