They contacted my wife and I pretending to offer mortgage assistance using the name of our existing company. We had fallen behind in our payments and they offered to reduce our payments to a more manageable amount if we first paid off our escrow back payments. They promised to reduce our interest rate in the process to 2.25% and make our payment moving forward. They emailed a document with Shellpoint letter head. When we spoke to them, they had our mortgage information including what we owed and our escrow information. We were told to make the payments through Walmart. We had to call and get a code to use at the time of the transaction and then call them back afterwards to provide pics of the final receipt.
