I was online and was attempting to pay a bill at Macy's. I was redirected when I was asked if I would like to have a free life alert product. I thought, "What the hell, I'm alone the majority of the time, I'm 74 years old, two knees that need to be replaced and five stents in my heart. So, I began speaking to a representative (Hazel) and she told me that the device was totally free. I was naive and gave her my debit card number. At the end of our conversation she told me that getting the device would be close to forty dollars a month. I told her that I could not afford that. So, I said, "Thank you, but I don't want the product and asked to be reconnected to Macy's, she then told me that I needed to redile the number. Later in my email I received a notice that they wanted to take money out of my account. I had to cancel my debit account and contact several business'.
