Type of a scam: Home Improvement

There is an asphalt company that are going door-to-door claiming to have leftover asphalt from a previous job and that they can pave your driveway for cheap. They have professional looking equipment and may claim to have just finished work for the city. They state they'll only charge you for the material and claim they can't give you an upfront price claiming that they don't know how much asphalt is left. They may try and bait you in by paving a small area first then trying to get you to allow them to pave more. When the job is finished, if finished at all, they try and charge you an incredulous amount, and try to get you to pay in cash. Typically they do substandard work and the asphalt isn't hot enough to from properly as they have it sitting in a truck close by as they go door-to-door. The The job may look good at first but begins to deteriorate shortly after.
