My hard-of-hearing elderly husband was approached by two men who knocked on the door of the rental house he was remodeling. They gave him the impression they were from NIGas, providing their annual check of rates. They promised to lower his rate. They were very pushy and were not concerned that he was confused by their visit. They did not identify themselves. A few days later my husband received a phone call from a person with a very thick accent he could not understand. Today we received notice from NIGas that our service has been switched to RPA. I am contacting NIGas to switch back. In the meantime, I looked up the rates. NIGas is 8 cents per them. RPA is 12.9 cents.

A young person wearing an orange safety vest and an RPA Energy badge knocked on my door and claimed to be visiting on behalf of Ameren. He was abrasive and demanded to see any Ameren bill I had in the house. When I pointed out his RPA badge and flat out refused, he stormed away and began texting on what looked like a personal cell phone.
