I was notified via text message about giving authorization for a transaction from a retail store called target fromChime. The Chime logo was present with the message so I thought it was them. The message asked me if I authorized a payment and I said no. Another message popped up saying that is if I didn’t authorize the payment that I will be getting a call shortly. The person called and I thought it was Chime because they said they were chime. He told me that my account has been compromised and that he will help me secure my account by putting some kind of security on it. Then he said that in order to do so he had to reverse the money in my account. That was done and he told me not to open the app for at least three hours. The next day when I got up I decided to pay my phone bill. As I submitted the payment I got a declined message. So when I opened my phone to the Chime app and looked into my account, I realized my money was gone. I proceeded to call them to let them know what happened. The person that I spoke to said Chime don’t call anyone for any authorized or unauthorized business. I think it was an inside job regarding Chime because this person knew all of my personal buisness and everything that was going on in my account. Right now I am supposed to move and I can’t go anywhere because I have to sit here and wait days for money that they took out in less than an hour. I can’t pay my phone bill because of them.
