[email protected] Reports & Reviews (1)

- Bedford, OH, USA

Several years ago, I received a windows security pop up and called the number. I went most of the way through setting up the security software giving my email address and dorm room address (which has by now obviously changed) , but stopped short of giving out my payment information. I have since changed to a new computer and factory reset the old one. Now today I received this email below with a few lines removed that contained the personally identifiable information. In the email, it mentions that my account is delinquent and impacting my credit score (I checked and there is no such demerits). A few things I noted is that the name of the email this was sent from [email protected] is different from the name of the person a the bottom. Also it is very strange for a company like this to use a basic gmail account anyways.

We are writing to notify you that your account with Win Security is currently in delinquent status due to non-payment. Our records indicate that you purchased comprehensive security services from us in 2018 under a five-year contract. As part of the contract, it was explicitly stated that your services would auto-renew for another five years, and you would be billed using the financial information provided at the time of purchase.

To date, we have not received any notice from you requesting the cancellation of services. Our records also show that despite our repeated attempts to contact you via the phone number on file, we were unable to reach you, and you did not return our calls. Since no cancellation request was made, your account has remained active, and you have continued to incur charges for the services provided.

- Amount Due: $2,798.78

- Account Status: Delinquent

Currently, your account is more than 24 months overdue, with a balance of $2,798.78. This outstanding amount is negatively impacting on your personal credit score, which could affect your ability to access financial services in the future. Please note that your services are on hold, but they have not been fully canceled, and charges are continuing to accrue.

To avoid further escalation, you are required to pay the overdue amount of $2,798.78 within 24 hours of receiving this email. Failure to do so will result in your account being forwarded to an external collection agency, which will take further action to recover the debt on our behalf. This may involve legal proceedings and will further impact your credit score. Please be aware that any additional costs incurred during this process will be your responsibility.

This email serves as our final communication on this matter. If payment is not received within 24 hours, the situation will be escalated, and you will be contacted by an external agency. To resolve this issue and prevent further negative consequences, please contact us immediately.

You can make the payment by calling us at 1-866-937-0651 or by emailing us at [email protected]. We strongly urge you to act promptly to avoid further complications.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Sam Kloet
