- Seattle, WA, USA

An agent with Pixsy called our office and indicated we used a copyrighted photo produced by an individual located in Malo Laole, Petrovac na Mlavi, Serbia. Because no permission was provided to use this particular photo on our website, a violation with United States copyright laws occurred. To avoid further legal action we were asked to open email links sent to us and complete their licensing forms and pay $1,495.00.

After our investigation using Pixsy's links sent to us by email which provided the photo in question, we discovered the photo was never used on our business website. The webpage URL Pixsy listed is not even close to any of our webpage URL's. In fact, information on the link listed a different business name and different phone number other than our own which happens to be in the same city as ours. If this copyright protection agency "so-called" Pixsy was legitimate, one would expect thorough efforts before filing claims against any copyright offender. We were able to immediately verify that this photo was never used by us.

The agent who called our office failed to recognize the difference in our business name with the other business listed with the photo. She almost demanded we provide our email address, fax number or mailing address so we could proceed to settle the license fee with a payment.

This has fraud and scam written all over it.
