Type of a scam Debt Collections
I talked to a representative named "John" who had information about a debt that was over ten years old. He had information about myself, where I lived, social security numbers, etc. They were very convincing. They said that they were trying to sue me and that even though this debt is over ten years old they could still sue for civil and that's what they were doing. The only way to avoid this was to make a payment settlement.
My daughter looked up the business information and couldn't find the lawyers office on the internet. Then the phone number linked it to a scam website. The address where the business was supposed to be is currently for rent. We have talked to the police department, the bank, etc and all have said that this is a scam and not to give out any information.
