Type of a scam Tech Support

Our Quick Books program kept crashing and a window would pop up to say call tech support. We dial the number it said to dial and they say "our data files are corrupt" and that they would have to rebuild the files. Then tell us we have no tech support and would have to pay for that service if we wanted our files to be rebuilt. Normally I would never pay for something if I had to search for the info or had gotten a phone number off the internet...this number came up while we were in the Quick books program! The cost was $900 for 1 time support or $1,597.49 for 3 years of support and the next 2 years of QB upgrades. Now doing the math it was worth it since every year its nearly $600 to keep it upgraded. They asked for electronic check...again it came from the QB program so we believed it to be legit. The program crashed again 3 weeks later so we call the "tech support" number that they gave us. Wouldn't you know the program expired that allows the data to process so at this time they have me suspicious. I ask "so what is this going to cost me"..he puts me on hold and comes back to say $1800! Now I know he's trying to scam us so I get loud and tell him that he's crazy and that I am going to call the customer service department on Monday. He gets irritated with me and says he will have someone call me back in 5 mins and hangs up without any further conversation. Of course no call back, not that I expected one or was waiting on it. After looking at the company that deposited the check the back says QBservices.Support , so I google this and find out its a company that scams people into believing its a legitimate QB tech support. It says it helps with all of the QB needs and accounting. That would be ok if they had not literally hijacked our accounting program and tell us that the files were corrupt from the actual QB program. We did not seek out their services, we sought to have the REAL program techs help us hence using the programs info. Some how they were able to upload a virus to hijack our program.
